Job Description

The Engine Technician I is responsible for providing high quality repair service on natural gas engines.

• Learn to install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with supervision
• Learn to troubleshoot engines, fault isolation, proper balancing, over speed testing and run engine test stand
• Learn what parts are needed to complete various tasks and understand how to track time and parts used for reconstruction
• Learn how to recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears and valves
• Learn the correct operations of all repairs and adjustments
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of using calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers and torque specs
• Must be able to learn the operation of various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling, various shop hand and electric tools and overhead hoists/cranes
• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a company computer including Microsoft applications and be able to learn company specific applications
• Communicate information effectively with all levels of co-workers by phone, email or in person

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED is preferred
• 1+ years relevant work experience rebuilding natural gas and/or diesel engines
