Job Summary

Anesthesia Technician I, under general supervision, assists in anesthesia procedures by preparing and maintaining equipment, instruments, drugs, and supplies. Supports anesthesia providers and surgical teams by ensuring operating rooms and satellite anesthesia areas are fully stocked, safe, and ready for use.

Essential Functions

• Arrange drugs and sterile set-ups for anesthesia procedures in OR and satellite areas (GI Lab, Radiology).
• Maintain anesthesia cart and supply cabinets with adequate supplies.
• Clean tables, equipment, and OR work area after each case.
• Respond to requests for supplies/drugs via intercom and deliver promptly.
• Wash, dry, and prepare non-disposable equipment (laryngoscope blades, oxygen masks, humidifiers) for sterilization.

• Basic understanding of anesthesiology principles, practices, modalities, and equipment.
• Ability to prepare operating rooms effectively and respond calmly in emergencies.
• Skilled in cleaning and performing preventive maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
• Clear communication skills (verbal & written).
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and clinical staff.
• Ability to read, write, and follow protocols and instructions accurately.
• Basic computer skills (typing, EMR documentation, email, handheld scanning, etc.).
